If you watched the big game or have followed the major automotive news lately, you likely already know about the upcoming GMC Hummer EV. A commercial that first aired during the Super Bowl showed a pack of horses galloping full speed, then shots of gears turning, and finally a motorcycle sprinting away. Finally, LeBron James appears and dunks a basketball, and the new GMC Hummer EV is introduced to the audience.
The GMC Hummer EV
This was quite the debut for the upcoming Hummer EV, but if you’ve ever been behind the wheel of a Hummer vehicle, you’ll know that Hummer vehicles have always done things in a big way. Here at our GMC dealership serving Oskaloosa, IA, we are beyond thrilled about the return of Hummer vehicles to the road, and while we likely won’t see this model for a couple years, we do have some early information.
The first major difference between the Hummer EV and previous versions of Hummer cars is that this model will use a battery pack instead of a V8 engine. GMC has also promised that the new Hummer will be a new GMC truck, but we do not know if “truck” means a large SUV, a traditional pickup truck, or something else entirely. The official output numbers have also been released, and they are a sight to behold. Sure to silence electric vehicle skeptics, the 2022 GMC Hummer EV will crank out over 1,000 horsepower and a reported 11,500 lb-ft of torque. This level of power means that the new Hummer will be able to accelerate from zero to 60 in just three seconds.
Look for the 2022 GMC Hummer EV at our dealership near Oskaloosa, IA as soon as its available.
