2021 Chevy Traverse vs. 2021 Kia Telluride

Looking for a new ride? The new Chevy Traverse is unlike any other vehicle on the market. Don’t believe us? Our team here at Vaughn Chevrolet Buick GMC of Ottumwa wants to showcase all the ways that the new 2021 Chevy Traverse outshines its competitors, like the 2021 Kia Telluride.
Performance and Efficiency
SUVs are known for being powerful vehicles, and both the 2021 Chevrolet Traverse and the 2021 Kia Telluride deliver in this area. Both vehicles only offer one transmission and engine combination. Equipped with V6 engines, both the Kia Telluride and the Chevy Traverse provide a smooth ride.
However, these two vehicles differ when it comes to fuel economy. The Kia Telluride only earns 24 mpg on the highway, whereas the new Chevy Traverse delivers 27 mpg on the highway. When it comes to towing, these two vehicles can both tow up to 5,000 pounds, but the Kia Telluride doesn’t have a trailer hitch or an exclusive trailering mode like the 2021 Chevy Traverse.
If you’re in the market for a fuel-efficient vehicle with a sporty feel, the 2021 Chevy Traverse is your number one choice.
Comfort and Tech Features
As three-row vehicles, both the Chevy Traverse and Kia Telluride offer passengers plenty of space to spread out. However, when it comes to cargo space, the Chevy Traverse offers 57.8 cubic feet, while the Kia Telluride only provides 46 cubic feet.
Both of these SUVs offer plenty of entertainment and tech features that will please the whole family, like standard Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto integration. However, only the Chevy Traverse offers a built-in WiFi hotspot.

Where Can I Get an Oil Change Near Me?

Not sure where to schedule an oil change for your Chevrolet vehicle? A quick search for “oil change near me” will lead you to our Chevrolet service center in Iowa. Learn all about the importance of regular oil changes for your Chevrolet Equinox and where to get them at Vaughn Chevrolet Buick GMC of Ottumwa.
Why Oil Changes are Essential
Regular oil changes are an essential part of maintaining your vehicle’s overall engine health and performance. Your engine depends on a fresh supply of oil to perform well, but over time, oil begins to accumulate grime and other build up.
In turn, this can decrease your vehicle’s ability to maintain a proper temperature and stay lubricated. Replacing your oil on a regular basis is a surefire way to keep your vehicle running like new for a long time.
Scheduling Oil Changes
Every vehicle has a different time frame for oil changes, considering different engine types, driving habits, and fuel consumption.
Common practice is to change the oil in your vehicle every 5,000 to 7,000 miles if you’re a frequent driver. If you’re not, then changing your oil every six months or so is a good rule of thumb.
To find out the specific oil change schedule for your vehicle, talk to our service experts near Ottumwa, IA. Our auto technicians will not only change your oil, but we’ll also help you schedule regular maintenance for your vehicle.

Best Chevy Cars with Wi-Fi Hotspots in Iowa

In recent years, more and more new Chevrolet cars have added Wi-Fi hotspots as either a standard or an optional feature. This is part of a larger trend to include all the latest in-cabin technology and connectivity features. There are more than a few Chevy cars with Wi-Fi, and here at Vaughn Chevrolet Buick GMC of Ottumwa, our dealers are happy to show them off.
How In-Car Wi-Fi Works
Before talking about new Chevy cars that have Wi-Fi, it is important to understand how in-car Wi-Fi works, because it is such a new function. Chevrolet OnStar® with 4G LTE and a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot provides an internet connection that is fast, reliable, and more powerful than a smartphone or mobile hotspot. With it, you can connect up to seven mobile devices at the same time so that your passengers can browse, post, game, and stream at 4G LTE speeds.
Wi-Fi uses the vehicle’s built-in antenna to provide a reliable signal up to 50 feet away from the vehicle. Because it is powered by your battery, the signal is always on when your car is on accessory modes.
Chevy Cars with Wi-Fi
There are a large amount of Chevy cars, trucks, and SUVs that have Wi-Fi. Here are some of our favorites:
- 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500: This heavy-duty pickup truck has an available built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot that allows you to stream movies, download games, and surf the web.
- 2020 Chevy Tahoe: This large family-friendly SUV also has an available 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot.
- 2020 Chevy Corvette: In addition to being sporty and thrilling to drive, the convertible also has available Wi-Fi.
Test drive these Chevy cars with Wi-Fi and more features right here at Vaughn Chevrolet Buick GMC of Ottumwa.
Shop Our Used Car Selection

Here at Vaughn Chevrolet Buick GMC of Ottumwa, our goal as a dealership is to serve Ottumwa, IA drivers with a wide selection of reliable, fun-to-drive, and safe vehicles. In addition to providing drivers with the newest models from Chevrolet, Buick, and GMC, we also feature a wide selection of budget-friendly used cars. No matter what type of vehicle you’re shopping for, there’s a high probability that we will have it on our lot.
Used Chevrolet, Buick, and GMC Cars
The primary reason people choose to buy a used car rather than a new one is price. When you buy a new car, it can lose up to 20 percent of its value the moment you drive it off our lot. This cruel phenomenon is known as depreciation, and the worst depreciation occurs in the first few years of ownership. In fact, some cars lose up to half of their value in the first three or four years. By purchasing a used Chevy car that is only a few years old, you can get something reliable and low-mileage. And you’ll still have access to some of the same features that you would find on a new model. All this for just a fraction of the price.
Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles
If you’re looking for the highest-quality, lowest-mileage pre-owned Chevy vehicles, shop our Certified Pre-Owned Chevy inventory. Vehicles in this class are required to pass a rigorous 172-point inspection. CPO vehicles include bonuses such as roadside assistance, a Powertrain Limited Warranty, a Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty, courtesy transportation, a SiriusXM All-Access Package Trial, and a free Vehicle History Report.
To shop our pre-owned car selection, head into Vaughn Chevrolet Buick GMC today.
The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Vs. The Ford F-150

When it comes to pickup trucks, most drivers near Ottumwa, IA are looking for performance, capability, comfort, and safety. Here at Vaughn Chevrolet Buick GMC Ottumwa, the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is our go-to pickup truck, but we understand that most smart car shoppers will want to comparison shop with a competitor such as the 2020 Ford F-150. Here is a side-by-side comparison between the two pickup trucks.
Performance
When you buy the 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500, you’ll have your choice of six different powertrains, allowing you to choose the right combination of power and efficiency for your needs. The available Duramax 3.0-liter Turbo-Diesel helps the Chevy Silverado offer best-in-class EPA-estimated 23 miles per gallon city and 33 miles per gallon highway. Meanwhile, the Silverado Diesel models provide best-in-class 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, which can tow up to 9,300 pounds. At the top of the line is the massive 6.2-liter V8, which cranks out 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, allowing for a tow capacity of up to 13,400 pounds.
Looking at the 2020 Ford F-150, you’ll find a few engine options, but none of the options match the fuel efficiency provided by the diesel options offered on the new Chevrolet truck.
Technology Features
One of the standout tech features on the 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 is the segment-first Advanced Trailering System, which features an in-vehicle trailering app that offers customized trailer profiles. Additionally, the truck has more camera views than any other truck, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and available 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot.
The 2020 Ford F-150 has an in-vehicle infotainment system and a Pro Trailer Backup Assist, but unfortunately, this feature has less functionality than the in-vehicle trailering app on the Chevy truck.
To see why the 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 blows away the competition, get behind the wheel here at Vaughn Chevrolet Buick GMC of Ottumwa.
Electric Vs. Hybrid Vehicles in Ottumwa, IA

Electric and hybrid vehicles are two of the fastest growing segments in the auto industry. While some drivers conflate electric and hybrid vehicles, the two have a number of differences. Of course, both segments are fuel-efficient and great for the environment, which is the main reason they’ve become so popular. Here at Vaughn Chevrolet Buick GMC of Ottumwa, our dealers would like to educate local drivers on the differences between these two types of vehicle.
Electric Vehicles
As the name suggests, electric vehicles are fully electric and do not use any gasoline. One of the most popular electric Chevrolet cars on our lot is the Chevrolet Bolt, which uses electric power alone. Electric vehicles offer a number of advantages over plug-in hybrid cars, with the first being that they are more environmentally friendly because they do not use any fuel whatsoever. The lack of fuel also helps drivers save money at the pump.
Plug-In Hybrid Cars
Chevrolet also manufactures a couple of plug-in hybrid vehicles, namely the Chevrolet Volt and the Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid. Essentially, plug-in hybrids use two different powertrains, electric and gasoline, both of which generate power. The electric motor lets the driver go a certain distance on its own, and then the gasoline engine kicks in after the charge is depleted.
The advantages of buying a plug-in hybrid include the longer range than electric vehicles. Plug-in hybrid drivers get the best of both world: the ability to cruise around town using a battery and the ability to go on longer journeys.
To test drive Chevrolet electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, head over to Vaughn Chevrolet Buick GMC today.

If you watched the big game or have followed the major automotive news lately, you likely already know about the upcoming GMC Hummer EV. A commercial that first aired during the Super Bowl showed a pack of horses galloping full speed, then shots of gears turning, and finally a motorcycle sprinting away. Finally, LeBron James appears and dunks a basketball, and the new GMC Hummer EV is introduced to the audience.
The GMC Hummer EV
This was quite the debut for the upcoming Hummer EV, but if you’ve ever been behind the wheel of a Hummer vehicle, you’ll know that Hummer vehicles have always done things in a big way. Here at our GMC dealership serving Oskaloosa, IA, we are beyond thrilled about the return of Hummer vehicles to the road, and while we likely won’t see this model for a couple years, we do have some early information.
The first major difference between the Hummer EV and previous versions of Hummer cars is that this model will use a battery pack instead of a V8 engine. GMC has also promised that the new Hummer will be a new GMC truck, but we do not know if “truck” means a large SUV, a traditional pickup truck, or something else entirely. The official output numbers have also been released, and they are a sight to behold. Sure to silence electric vehicle skeptics, the 2022 GMC Hummer EV will crank out over 1,000 horsepower and a reported 11,500 lb-ft of torque. This level of power means that the new Hummer will be able to accelerate from zero to 60 in just three seconds.
Look for the 2022 GMC Hummer EV at our dealership near Oskaloosa, IA as soon as its available.
